The National Commission for Culture and the Arts, along with the OPM - Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit, PhilPop, and the provincial government of Capiz, livens up Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (LMP) in its 10th year.

 

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 933 (s. 2014), then-president Benigno Noynoy Aquino declared the last week of July of every year as “Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino” in order to promote original Pilipino music increase the Filipino audiences' appreciation of homegrown music. The proclamation also reiterates Executive Order 255 (s.1987) which requires playing of four OPM songs per clock hour for radio programs with music format.
