Our consular official is authorized by the Philippine Government to solemnize marriages provided
- these shall be between two Filipino citizens, one male and one female, and
- these take place within the premises of the Philippine Embassy.
Steps in Applying to Get Married at the Embassy
- Apply for a marriage license and Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage (LCCM) at the Embassy by submitting the following in person at the Embassy (Note: All original PSA documents will be retained by the Embassy and will not be returned):
- Accomplished Application for Marriage Licence and Marriage Solemnization at Embassy - to be accomplished and signed by both bride and groom at the Embassy
- Bride’s Certificate of Live Birth issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Apostille by the DFA - bring original and three (3) photocopies
- Bride’s Certificate of No Record of Previous Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Apostille by the DFA, not more than 6 months before the intended date of marriage - bring original and three (3) photocopies
- Bride’s valid Philippine passport - bring original and four (4) photocopies
- Groom’s Certificate of Live Birth issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Apostille by the DFA - bring original and three (3) photocopies
- Groom’s Certificate of No Record of Previous Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Apostille by the DFA, not more than 6 months before the intended date of marriage - bring original and three (3) photocopies
- Groom’s valid Philippine passport - bring original and four (4) photocopies
- Photos of bride and groom (2X2)
- Payment of fees:
- KD 19.500 for solemnization of marriage,
- KD 8.125 for marriage license,
- KD 8.125 for LCCM of bride,
- KD 8.125 for LCCM of groom, all paid in cash at the Embassy
- Additional documents for each personal circumstance that applies:
- For a contracting party who had a previous marriage annulled by court: Amended PSA Marriage Certificate with annotation of annulment
- For a contracting party who had a previous marriage dissolved by a Philippine Court recognition of foreign divorce: Amended PSA Marriage Certificate with annotation of annulment
- For a contracting party who is a widow or widower: PSA Death Certificate of deceased spouse
- For a contracting party aged 18-21 years old: Affidavit of Consent executed by the parents of the contracting party, notarized by a Philippine public notary
- For a contracting party aged 22-25 years old, written Parental Advice of parents, notarized by a Philippine public notary
- The application for a marriage license or the marriage banns shall be posted/published for ten (10) consecutive days before the marriage license is issued.
- The Embassy shall issue LCCMs a marriage license, valid for a period of 120 days from the date of issue. The applicants should get married at the Embassy within those 120 days.
