Kuwait 29 November 2021: The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait along with its agencies namely POLO-OWWA, DSWD, SSS and Pag Ibig Fund with their respective families attended and participated in the 2021 ASEAN Family Day that was held at the Kuwait University Club on 27 November 2021.
After failing to have its annual family day last year due to the Kuwait government’s imposition of health protocols, to curb the COVID-19 virus in the country, the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait decided to hold the 2021 ASEAN family day.
The event highlighted the close relationship and friendship between the ASEAN member countries, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam which are present in the event. Solidarity and mutual understanding between the ASEAN member countries was evident during the event. ASEAN member countries showcase their food, culture and tourism spots in their individual booths.

Advisor to the Department of Asia Affairs at Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Mr. Saleh Al-Sarawi graced the occasion as the event’s chief guest of honor. Mr. Al-Sarawi visited all the booths of the ASEAN member countries.

To further develop camaraderie and sportsmanship, various games were organized and participated by the diplomats and their families. A widely participated Zumba session also marked the promotion of health and wellness to the songs from different ASEAN member countries.
