The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has seen media reports on the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior’s decision to cancel the fines of overstaying expatriates or illegal residents in Kuwait, provided that they leave the country from 1 to 30 April 2020. The said media reports added that the decision does not include those with existing travel bans.
The Embassy informs the Filipino community in Kuwait that it is still waiting for official communication from the government of Kuwait regarding the reported decision by its Interior Ministry, including the decision’s implementing guidelines. At present, the government has not changed its decision to suspend commercial flights to and from Kuwait International Airport.
The Filipino community in Kuwait is advised to follow the Embassy’s official website and Facebook and Twitter accounts for future public advisories on this matter.

Nakita ng Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Kuwait ang mga ulat sa media tungkol sa desisyon ng Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior na ipawalang-bisa ang mga multa ng mga overstaying expatriate o mga iligal na residente sa Kuwait, kung sila ay aalis ng bansa mula ika-1 hanggang ika-30 ng Abril 2020. Dagdag pa ng mga nasabing ulat, hindi kasama sa desisyon ang mga mayroong travel ban.
Ipinapaalam ng Embahada sa Filipino community sa Kuwait na hinihintay pa nito ang opisyal na pabatid mula sa pamahalaan ng Kuwait ukol sa napaulat na desisyon ng Interior Ministry, kasama na ang mga panuntunan kung paano ipatutupad ang desisyon. Sa kasalukuyan, hindi nagbabago ang desisyon ng pamahalaan na suspendihin ang mga komersyal na lipad papunta at palabas ng Kuwait International Airport.
