The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait informs the Filipino community that the government of Kuwait will enforce a nationwide curfew from 5:00 P.M. to 4:00 A.M. beginning Sunday, 22 March 2020.

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anas Al-Saleh warned that violators of the curfew may be jailed for up to three years, and pay a fine of KD10,000 (more than P1.6 million). The Kuwaiti government has no advice until when the curfew will be implemented.

In this regard, the Embassy announces that except for emergency cases, passport releasing and claiming will be suspended beginning Monday, 23 March 2020.

The Embassy reminds all Filipinos in Kuwait to stay at home and follow the instructions of Kuwaiti authorities. Everyone is also encouraged to follow the Embassy’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts for future public advisories, including an advisory on Embassy operations for the rest of March and April 2020.
