The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait informs the Filipino community that according to a report by Kuwait News Agency on 11 March 2020, the Kuwaiti Cabinet made a decision on the following:

  1. Kuwaiti government offices will be on an official holiday from 12 March 2020 to 26 March 2020. Government offices will resume work on 29 March 2020.
  2. Commercial flights to and from Kuwait International Airport will be suspended starting 12:00 a.m. of 13 March 2020. Operations of cargo planes will continue.
  3. Restaurants, cafes and cinemas, including those located inside shopping malls, and private health clubs will be closed.

The Kuwait Bank Association also announced that banks will be closed from 12 March 2020 and will reopen on 29 March 2020. Electronic banking services, including local and international bank transfers, will continue, and ATMs will remain operational.

In light of these measures by the Kuwaiti government against the Coronavirus Disease 2019, the Embassy appeals to all Filipinos to stay healthy, remain calm and vigilant, and get updates only through official and credible news outlets.

The Embassy also reiterates its earlier advice to postpone to a later date all their travels to and from Kuwait. The Embassy advises those who are affected by the flight suspensions to contact their respective airlines or travel agents.

The Embassy encourages the Filipino community in Kuwait to follow its official Facebook and Twitter accounts for future advisories, including an advisory on Embassy operations for March 2020.

Ipinapaalam ng Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Kuwait na ayon sa ulat ng Kuwait News Agency noong 11 Marso 2020, inilabas ang Gabinete ng Kuwait ang mga sumusunod na desisyon:

  1. Ang mga opisina ng pamahalaan ng Kuwait ay naka-opisyal na holiday mula 12 Marso 2020 hanggang 26 Marso 2020. Magbabalik-trabaho ang mga opisina ng pamahalaan ng 29 Marso 2020.
  2. Ang mga commercial flight patungo at paalis ng Kuwait International Airport ay suspendido simula 12:00 a.m. ng 13 Marso 2020. Magpapatuloy ang operasyon ng cargo.
  3. Ang mga kainan, kapihan at sinehan, kasama ang nasa loob ng mga shopping mall, at mga pribadong health club, ay isasara.

Ang Kuwait Bank Association ay nag-anunsyo rin na ang mga bangko ay sarado mula 12 Marso 2020 at magbubukas muli ng 29 Marso 2020. Ang mga electronic banking service, kasama ang local at international money transfers, ay magpapatuloy, at ang mga ATM ay mananatiling bukas.

Sa kabila ng mga hakbang ng pamahalaan ng Kuwait laban sa Coronavirus Disease 2019, umaapela ang Embahada sa lahat ng Pilipino na maging malusog, manatiling kalmado at mapagmatyag, at kumuha ng mga balita mula lamang sa mga opisyal at mapagkakatiwalaang news outlets.

Inuulit din ng Embahada ang nauna nitong abiso na ipagpaliban muna sa ibang araw ang mga biyahe papunta at palabas ng Kuwait. Inaabisuhan ng Embahada ang mga apektado ng mga kanselasyon ng lipad na makipag-ugnayan sa kanilang mga airline o travel agent.

Hinihimok ng Embahada ang Filipino community sa Kuwait na i-follow ang mga opisyal na Facebook at Twitter account nito para sa susunod pang mga abiso, kasama ang magiging abiso ng Embahada ukol sa magiging operasyon nito ngayong Marso 2020.
