The Philippine Embassy wishes to inform all concerned citizens/parties of the following Resolutions promulgated by the Commission En Banc on 09 December 2021 regarding the accreditation of Mass Media and Domestic and International Observers for the 2022 National and Local Elections. - Resolution No. 10739: GUIDELINES FOR MASS MEDIA ACCREDIATION FOR THE MAY 9, 2022 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS; and
- Resolution No. 10740: GUIDELINES FOR THE ACCREDIATION OF DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS/MONITORS FOR THE MAY 09, 2022 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS.
COMELEC wishes to clarify that on Resolution No. 10739 and Resolution No. 10740 regarding the Guidelines for the Accreditation of Mass Media and Domestic and International Observers/Monitors for the May 09, 2022 National and Local Elections:
- Media entities who wish to cover overseas voting activities at Posts are required to be accredited by the COMELEC- Education and Information Department (EID).
- All visiting foreign media seeking accreditation shall submit individual or group endorsements from their Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines, and not from Post (Sec. 4, Resolution No. 10739)
COMELEC notes that the last day for the filing of application for accreditation of media entities and applications for accreditation of both foreign and local observers is both on 11 March 2022.
