14 April 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has announced today that it has successfully repatriated a group of sixty-eight (68) undocumented OFW under the Embassy’s Assisted Repatriation Program (EARP) for distressed overseas Filipinos last 11 April 2019.

“I would also like to thank the dynamic and resilient Officer and staff of the Philippine Embassy for their commitment and dedication in making EARP successful. I am also very thankful to the Illegal Residency Monitoring and Immigration Departments of Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior for the invaluable assistance they have provided the Embassy.” Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i. Mohd. Noordin Pendosina N. Lomondot said in a statement.

EARP is a joint program of the Embassy and both the Illegal Residency Monitoring and Immigration Departments of Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior. EARP also aims to repatriate overseas Filipinos who were charged with absconding and expired visa cases at the Immigration Department, without having to be detained.

The Embassy has also assisted in the medical repatriation of OFW Ruwina Hutalla Mercadal, who had been aided and monitored by its Assistance to Nationals Unit - Medical Response Team (ATNU-MRT) while she was being treated in the hospital. She was one of the Manila-bound repatriates.

The sixty-eight (68) repatriates are in addition to the forty-four (44) that was repatriated last 07 March 2019 and another forty-four (44) OFWs that were repatriated last 13 February 2019 through the Embassy’s facility. END
